Gjelosh Lulashi (1927-1946), graduated in Italy. He was shot by order of Enver Hoxha along with priests and intellectuals grouped in the “Democratic Union”. An ordeal of persecution, torture, and tragedy for him and his family. His family was not allowed to take his body and since then, they have not been able to find his grave. The tragic fate of the family due to political persecution is unimaginable: four generations executed, the last one murdered in 1990, when Pal Kokrri with his family attempted to escape to Shkodra. They were shot by border forces, although the Constitution and the Penal Code prohibited murder. His father (Pali), wife, and his 10–11-year-old daughter (Liljana) lost their lives in the gun attack. After the change of system, the family searched for the numerous graves in Shkodra, Berat and the border belt. “We have found most of our dead, but we have only three graves left, Gega, Gjeloshi, and Liljana”.
Extraordinary, painful, and symbolic testimony that speaks more than 1000 words. The video testimony was made by journalist Luljeta Progni, as part of the engagement of the Institute of Political Studies (ISP).
