The initiative “Open Municipality” is a project supported by LEVIZ ALBANIA (Move Albania) and the Swiss Embassy conducted by the Institute of Political Studies. This project aimed to monitor and reflect the real situation and the implementation of the law for the right to be informed in four main municipalities Tirana, Durres, Shkoder, and Vlora, a monitoring which was later published in the corresponding study. The “Open Municipality” initiative also stimulated the municipalities to publish their transparency program and other instrumentalities required by law for the right to information for the local government. The written and visual media, both local and central, was part of the informative campaign of ISP as a promoter of the transparency and as a main informant of the public.
